The opening stage of the Burren Way runs north from the surf town of Lahinch through Liscannor and past O'Brien's Tower along the top of the Cliffs of Moher — the most spectacular stretch of coastal path in Ireland — before descending to the music village of Doolin.

The cliff-top section demands respect in wind, but the drama of the 200m cliffs, the Aran Islands offshore and the constant seabird traffic make this an unforgettable day. It's a long linear stage; buses and taxis connect the endpoints in season.
