Mullaghmore's extraordinary swirled limestone strata make it the poster child of the Burren National Park. This loop follows the park's waymarked trails over bare limestone pavement, past turloughs (disappearing lakes) and through hazel scrub rich in wildflowers.
Underfoot the route is rocky and uneven — sturdy boots are recommended even though the distances are modest. In spring and early summer the Burren's famous flora, including gentians and orchids, is at its best.
