This stage of the Wicklow Way runs from the village of Roundwood south through some of the finest scenery on the whole trail, passing above Lough Dan, through forestry and open hillside, and finally descending into Glenmalure, the longest glacial valley in Ireland or Britain.
The route follows the well-waymarked Wicklow Way throughout, on a mix of forest tracks, boardwalk and quiet lanes. It's a long day, so start early and arrange a pickup or accommodation at Glenmalure Lodge at the far end.
