St. Kevin's Way retraces the medieval pilgrim route from Hollywood in west Wicklow over the Wicklow Gap to the monastic city of Glendalough, following in the saint's 6th-century footsteps. The route climbs gently through farmland and forestry, crests the pass beside the King's River, and descends the Glendasan valley past old mine workings to the round tower.
The way is fully waymarked on a mix of quiet road, track and path. Though long, gradients are gentle throughout, and finishing among the ruins of Glendalough gives the day a pilgrimage's sense of arrival.
