The two Lough Brays — Upper and Lower — sit in dramatic glacial corries beneath Eagle's Crag on the northern edge of the Wicklow Mountains, just off the Military Road near Glencree. This loop climbs onto the rim of the corries for wonderful views down over both lakes.
Though short, the route crosses rough, peaty ground with informal paths, and the cliff edges demand respect in wind or poor visibility. It packs a remarkable amount of mountain atmosphere into a half-day outing, minutes from the road.
