Kippure

Kippure (757m) straddles the Dublin–Wicklow border and is the highest point in County Dublin, its summit marked by the tall RTÉ transmitter mast. The service road from the Sally Gap road provides a firm, if unrelenting, line to the top across the great blanket bog where the River Liffey rises.

Though navigationally simple, the walk is high, exposed and often bitterly windswept — pick a clear day, when the views stretch over the Liffey Head bog to the city, the bay and the mountains of the north Wicklow range.
