The Tolka Valley greenway threads a surprising ribbon of parkland along the River Tolka through northwest Dublin, linking Tolka Valley Park with riverside paths through Finglas and Glasnevin, with wildflower meadows, wetlands and weirs along the way.
The walking is flat and mostly on surfaced paths, and the route can be joined or left at many points. Combined with the National Botanic Gardens near its eastern end, it makes a fine green day out entirely within the city.
