Royal Canal Way – Maynooth to Enfield

This stage of the Royal Canal Way follows the towpath west from the university town of Maynooth through the rich farmland of north Kildare to Enfield, passing Jackson's Bridge, the Blackwater aqueduct and a procession of locks and lockhouses along the way.

The Royal Canal Greenway surface makes for easy, all-weather walking, and both ends of the stage have rail stations on the Sligo line — one of the easiest linear canal walks in Leinster to organise.
