The Glenbarrow Loop is the best-known walk in the Slieve Bloom Mountains, following the infant River Barrow upstream past a series of pretty waterfalls at Clamp Hole before climbing through forest onto the open moorland of the Ridge of Capard.
The ridge boardwalk offers enormous views over the midland plains — on a clear day from the Wicklow Mountains to the Galtees. Waymarking is good and paths are mostly forest track and boardwalk, with one steady climb.
