Slieve Gullion Loop

Slieve Gullion rises from the heart of the Ring of Gullion, a remarkable ring-dyke landscape in south Armagh steeped in the legends of Cú Chulainn and the Cailleach Beara. This loop through Slieve Gullion Forest Park circles the mountain, with an optional detour to the 573m summit.

The summit carries the highest surviving passage tomb in Ireland, and the panorama takes in the Mournes, the Cooleys and half of Ulster. Forest tracks and mountain path make up the route; the summit section is exposed in poor weather.
